Harbor Jazz Festival

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Stony Brook waterfront and historic village, The Jazz Loft’s 11th Annual Harbor Jazz Festival promises four unforgettable days of music, culture, and community. From September 16–19, the festival will showcase an elite lineup of internationally acclaimed jazz artists, and this year’s celebration is bigger and better than ever.

Prepare to be swept away by performances from the Jazz Loft Trio led by Frank Hanson, The Mike LeDonne Organ Trio; Vijay Iyer Trio; Matt Chiasson Quintet; Birsa Chatterjee Quartet; Dal Segño Trio featuring Georgia Heers; Mark Gross Quartet; Camille Thurman with the Darrell Green Trio; plus the high-energy Dal Capo Brass Band leading a strolling parade through the heart of the village.

“The 11th Annual Harbor Jazz Festival lineup delivers an extraordinary opportunity to hear some of the world’s finest jazz artists, right here in our own backyard,” said Jazz Loft Founder Tom Manuel. “These musicians regularly grace the top venues in New York City, and now our Long Island community gets to experience them up close in a truly unique setting.”

This year’s festival unfolds across two outdoor stages overlooking Stony Brook Harbor and inside The Jazz Loft at 275 Christian Avenue. The Village Green will come alive thanks to a special partnership with Mirabelle at The Three Village Inn, offering al fresco dining under the stars, right next to the main stage. Patrons can savor gourmet creations.

Saturday, September 19, is a festival highlight, with FREE outdoor concerts all day and plenty of extra attractions. Classic cars will roll in for a dazzling vintage car show, inviting visitors to admire gleaming classics while enjoying the music. The Dal Capo Brass Band will kick off the afternoon with a lively parade from the Stony Brook Post Office to Crazy Beans, setting a joyful tone for a full day of performances.

All you need to enjoy Saturday’s shows is a lawn chair or blanket and a love of live music. In case of rain, all performances will move inside The Jazz Loft.
